On June 4th, 2024, the Club held its Scholarship Awards Day for the 2024-25 academic year. We welcomed a group of delightful students and proud parents and handed out a total of $45,500 in college and vocational scholarships to 17 recipients.
We are now accepting applications for scholarship for the 2025-2026 school year. The deadline to apply is March 28, 2025. Please review the information about our scholarships below.
The Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Scholarship Program, now in its 18th year, has provided over $600,000 in financial support to deserving local youth as they pursue their advanced education. To be eligible, students must have a connection to the Sanibel or Captiva communities, which means they must be either residents or have parents who live or work on the Islands. Criteria for awarding scholarships include past academic performance, community service involvement and financial means. Scoring of applicants is done by independent educators located off-Island and not affiliated with the Club. Both one-year and multi-year scholarships are awarded.
The award of these scholarships is typically made in late May of each year. Applications and all supporting documents are typically required by late March of each year. Incomplete applications will be rejected. The application and all required documentation should be emailed to Grace Murphy at sancapkiwanisscholarship@gmail.com in one PDF file or Word file, or can be mailed to the following address:
